OH NO!…..

October 17, 2013

the green rabbit just ran into the street…!

It’s an old ploy, trite to the max, but it still works so why not?

It’s called “softening them up for the kill” in some circles, among other metaphorical and indirect descriptions, and is anything but complicated. Here’s how it works:

Let’s say you want to take some action that you know will encounter resistance or even outright rejection. First, you create a crisis not directly related to the issue at hand. That draws attention away from your real mission, and you invest a great deal of drama into resolving the decoy crisis, dragging it out for as long as possible to facilitate coming out of the fray as a hero.

Meanwhile the original REAL mission smokes along quietly in the background, appearing almost irrelevant by comparison.

Just sayin’……

  1. I am truly saddened by the inability of our politicians to stand up for the people of the USA. If reports of some of the details of this bill are accurate (anybody read it yet?) the President can now raise the debt limit anytime he wants to and the Congress can only override it with a 2/3 majority vote in BOTH houses. Anybody want to bet on whether we will EVER have a budget that originated in the House like the Constitution requires? I am afraid we are about to see spending explode like we have never seen it before.

    • I hope not, Rick, as that would appear to leave only two rational options. One would be for the government to up the ante to full control, i.e: dictatorship (visualize Venezuela) in order to “get the economy under control”. The other would be for the people to exercise their Constitutionally prescribed right to discard the existing government and start anew. Neither has an aura of peace and tranquility, but I would always choose the latter without question. I hope we aren’t as close to that fork in the road as I think we are….
